Royal Challengers Bangalore thumped Chennai Super Kings in their second match of the season as they secured a comfortable 50-run win over their opponents.

Gujarat Titans notched their first win of the season as they beat Mumbai Indians by 36 runs in their second match.

RCB have won their last two against GT
Virat Kohli has scored 59 not out and 31 in his first two innings this season
Sai Sudharsan has scored 74 and 63 for GT, top scoring in both innings for his side

In their last five meetings, RCB have three wins, while GT have won the other two matches.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Form

Royal Challengers Bangalore have started the 2025 IPL season in style, securing confident wins over reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings.

Their win over CSK in their last match was particularly impressive. RCB posted an imposing 196/7 in their 20 overs before restricting their opponents to just 146/8. Josh Hazlewood (3/21) was good with the ball, while Virat Kohli provided the anchor for his side as he scored 31 from 30.

While Kohli was not really able to get away and go big with the bat, he has looked comfortable at the crease so far, which spells trouble for GT. With this in mind, I am backing him to add to his scores of 59 not out and 31 with the top score for the home side.

Gujarat Titans Form

Gujarat Titans were able to extract a much-needed win against Mumbai Indians in game two as they bounced back from their high-scoring defeat to Punjab Kings in their opening game of the season.

Batting first, GT posted a score of 196/8, with Sai Sudharsan (63) once again top scoring for his side with some very powerful hitting. He linked up well with Shubman Gill (38) and Jos Buttler (39), with the side notching an imposing total. In reply, MI could not get going as they slipped to a 36 run defeat.

While I back Sudharsan to score well for his side, I do not expect GT to make it two wins in as many outings. They have lost their last two against RCB, and I back the home side to stay perfect this season.

Verdict

Royal Challengers Bangalore v Gujarat Titans

I am backing Kohli to top score for RCB as Sudharsan matches him for GT. With home advantage, I cannot look past RCB as I predict they make it three consecutive wins in the competition.
