Liverpool return to league action with a 12-point lead at the top of the table heading into the final nine matches of the season.

Everton took a point from West Ham in their last game as they made it four consecutive draws in the league.

Liverpool have won four of their last 10 against their opponents, with the Toffees winning twice and the other four ending as draws.

Liverpool Form

Liverpool have won their last three league games and sit 12 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the league with 27 points left to play for.

The Reds are strong at home, only losing once at Anfield in the league, meaning I do not predict a loss in this game. However, they have not been great against Everton in recent years.

The rivals shared the points in their last meeting, while four of the last 10 matches have ended in draws. Returning from an international break can see teams struggle to hit the ground running, and I back Liverpool to drop two points this week.

Everton Form

Everton arrive on a nine-game unbeaten run in the league, with the side picking up 17 points from a possible 29. They have picked up as many points in their last nine games as they managed in their previous 20 matches.

The Toffees are 17 points clear of the relegation zone with nine to play. They are also six points short of the supposed safety 40 points provides.

With four draws in their last four outings and five draws in their last six, I am backing Everton to take a point from Liverpool this week.

Verdict

Liverpool v Everton

Everton have been superb of late, making it very tough for the opposition to secure all three points. With this in mind, I am backing the Toffees to secure a draw as they make it 10 without defeat in the league.
